The Teen Program utilizes the Teen Zone, Community Center and Aquatics and Fitness facilities and surrounding fields to provide middle school-aged students with leisure activities after school. Classes, trips and special events are also offered in the evenings, weekends and school holidays to provide a well-rounded program. During the summer, teen summer adventure camps are offered to provide youth with the opportunity to have some fun and explore all the Bay Area has to offer.
In 2016-2019, the Recreation Department has launched a new program, High School Hangouts, geared toward high school age teens (15-19 years) with engaging activities and field trips excursions on Friday and Saturday nights.
As always participation in planned Teen Zone activities is not mandatory. There are plenty of ongoing activities available for everyone. Usage of the Teen Zone requires an annual school year pass. The membership provides unlimited use of the Teen Zone along with discounts on Teen programs & excursions. Teens receive a membership ID card with the purchase of the pass. Passes cost $75 and can be purchased at any time during the school year. The Teen Zone is closed during all Mill Valley school district closure dates.
