Perspectives; Past, Present and Future

A community art project, in response to the present day Racial Justice movement, invites Mill Valley to share their experiences, personal stories, and visions for the future.

Installation began on September 3, 2020 as the community art project, using freestanding doors, was constructed on the Downtown Plaza. The doors will serve as a blank canvas for community participation, and a metaphor to view systematic racism through three Perspectives: Past, Present, and Future. This project is the result of a collaboration between the Mill Valley Arts Commission and Artist, Zoe Fry.

How you can participate:

  • The backside of the doors will be available for posting of stories from the past or present, and visions, dreams, and policy changes to create an equitable future.

If you want to participate by sharing your story please bring a pen and come visit the piece. There will be instructions on site.
