The City of Mill Valley commits to act and encourage community action towards eliminating racial disparities, both inside government and in the community. The City Council has identified Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives as their top priority, and staff provides regular updates to the City Council and community on activities in Mill Valley and around Marin County on a regular basis.

Attend HERo Girls Fire Camp This October 2023 - Ready to make history? The Golden State Women in the Fire Service are hosting the first annual Girls Fire Camp, and registration is open! This free, two-day camp encourages and empowers the campers to learn skills associated with the fire service, such as emergency medical services, extrication, ventilation, ladders, hose lays, and other essential skills. City streets fall under our “Complete Streets” policy, which ensures roadways and public rights of way are planned, designed, operated, and maintained to be safe and comfortable for everyone, regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, income, or chosen travel mode.

Elder Fraud Event - The Mill Valley Police Department recently hosted an Elder Fraud event to promote safety in our community. Faith and Blue Event - The Mill Valley Police Department is partnering with the Tiburon Police Department and Belvedere Police Department to host the Faith and Blue event on October 8th, 2023 from 10am - 2pm. We will host a 3-point basketball shot competition for kids with prizes for the winners, as well as a blood drive hosted by Vitalant. Learn more and register to donate blood here.
Faith & Blue was launched to facilitate safer, stronger, more just and unified communities by directly enabling local partnerships among law enforcement professionals, residents, businesses and community groups through the connections of local faith-based organizations.
The initiative aims to re-calibrate police-community relations through solutions-focused, in-person, socially distanced and/or virtual activities that are organized jointly by faith-based or other community groups and law enforcement agencies.
